"Erase Her"
During a period of introspection and self-discovery, Toronto-based artist LESS KILLJOY began crafting her unique musical identity. Drawing inspiration from influential bands and artists such as No Doubt, Nirvana, Linkin Park, Kid Cudi and Paramore, she developed a sound that defies traditional genre boundaries. Her music seamlessly blends elements of ’90s grunge, pop, alternative hip-hop, shoegaze, and indie rock, resulting in a distinctive style she describes as “alt-hop lo-fi shoegaze indie punk.
”
With limited opportunities to collaborate, LESS KILLJOY turned inward, channeling her experiences of growing up in the suburbs, coping with depression, loneliness, and navigating personal secrets into her songwriting. Her debut EP, “Pink Grenade”, serves as a raw and honest reflection of these moments, capturing the essence of her journey through echoing vocals, dreamy synthesizers, grungy acoustic guitars, and assertive 808 basslines.
LESS KILLJOY’s music aims to foster a sense of community and inclusivity, resonating with listeners who seek authenticity and connection. Her energetic live performances and unapologetic “no filter” storytelling invite audiences into her world, offering solace and understanding to those who, like her, feel like misfit.
