To singer/songwriter/guitarist Joe Ferland, the road to success with Danceland has been not only the long, strange trip you might expect, but one that’s brought him full circle to boot. While he cut his teeth on the Dead and their indelible brand of psychedelic Americana, his own career as a musician at first took him down a vastly divergent path. As a New Yorker in the 1990s, he found himself in the thick of that city’s vibrant rock and pop-punk scene, with more than one record contract to show for his efforts.
