New Album
"Looking Through The Lens"

Looking Through the Lens is the debut full-length album from Winnipeg rock outfit CAR287 — a band that blends classic Canadian rock storytelling with blue-collar grit, highway energy, and modern relevance. Recorded in 2024 at the legendary Private Ear Recording with producer Derek Benjamin and released on Ctrl Space Records , the album captures the spirit of a band forged in prairie bars, garage jams, and real-life lived experience.

Musically, the record lives somewhere between The Tragically Hip’s narrative heart, The Black Keys’ blues stomp, and Tom Petty’s melodic drive — with four-part harmonies, acoustic-electric interplay, and a rhythm section that hits like steel-toed boots.

Lyrically, it’s an album about perspective — how time, memory, struggle, and resilience shape what we see in ourselves and each other, but rooted in the home of the band, Winnipeg.

Muddy Waters is a dark, cinematic take on Manitoba’s flood history, a bluesy song about the resilience of the people of Manitoba and continuous danger from the power of the Red River.
