Hailing from Sudbury Ontario, a new group with an eclectic sound is taking the independent music scene by storm!
Critics are acclaiming their sound as “very Canadian” and comparing them to bands Like the Tragically Hip, The Weakerthans, Blue Rodeo and Yukon Blond.
They are known as Weatherly.
Jason Fraser (Vocals, guitar), Nathan Aubrey (Acoustic & Electric Guitar), Steve Burton (Lead Guitar), Chad Bouchard (Drums) and Chris Milligan (Bass, Vocals) individually exhibit creative and supreme talent, but surges as a powerful unit to create a whole new dynamic to the band’s electrifying sound.
With hints of southern rock, folk, blues, country, punk and pop, unique styling’s and flavors, Weatherly delivers an exclusive brand of "rock" which gives this group a fresh and exciting new rock element that sets them apart from other acts.
In their short time together, they have grown to become a highly regarded and well respected live act, making a monolithic impression on audiences with their supercharged onstage intensity.
This year, Weatherly earned first prize in Dauphin's Country Fest’s annual battle of the bands in Manitoba, which showcased a variety of musical styles. The group has share the stage with legendary classic rock acts (Chilliwack, Dr. Hook, Great White, Lou Gramm from Foreigner to name a few)at the Rock N' Roar Festival in Spanish Ontario, and recently performed as supporting act for Marianas Trench at Sudbury Summerfest.
The group has also performed several private functions and benefit shows throughout the past year. Respectively driven by the love and passion for the music and insatiable appetite to perform, Weatherly can be described as emotional, fearless and confident, while retaining the feeling and honesty that is often missed in today's music.
Weatherly has just released there summer EP and are doing a sequence of EPs related to all four seasons. The band continues to grow experiment and write new innovative material. As a new band Weatherly is planning to impact the Canadian music industry for years to come.
