"Through To You"
LeBarons, your truly 100% independent alt-country from Toronto/Hamilton are back to tell more expansive stories on their new record, Days Are Mountains available digitally August 11th. Coproduced by Jason “Cone” McCaslin (Sum 41) and John Dinsmore (NQ Arbuckle, Sarah Harmer), Days Are Mountains sees the band taking more risks, expanding their sound beyond the traditional twang of “alt-country,” and exploring a deeper palette of sounds and textures to bring some hopelessly romantic, personal, and universal stories to life.
Since, 2018’s Summer Of Death, lead singer and songwriter Chris MacDonald continued to hone his storytelling instincts, channelling the anxiety of the pandemic into his debut novel, The Things I Came Here With: A Memoir (ECW Press, 2022). The book explores Chris’ challenging childhood and the twisting path that led him to tattooing. It ultimately speaks to the way art can literally save lives. Chris’ lyrics and storytelling have always been the beating heart of LeBarons’ music, and they reach a new level of refinement reflected vividly in the settings and characters animating the world of Days Are Mountains. “Expertly crafted,” - Aesthetic Magazine; “haunting and hypnotic,” - Canada’s Music; “evocative,” - Post To Wire; “epic, brooding, and emotional,” - The Rocking Magpie. When audiences and critics experience LeBarons, they connect on a level that transports them to another place - just like any good story should.
