Ayden Jacobs

Posted by Shane Macaulay on 2017/06/02
My influences are Slash, Nuno Bettencourt, Satchel and B.B. King, to name a few. My style is classic rock, funk rock and blues.  I have also worked with Darren James Smith (Harem Scarem & Red Dragon Cartel) as well as Dave Langguth (Nelly Furtado & Kim Mitchell).

Over the past 5 years I have also worked with and been mentored by Andy Narsingh. Andy is best known for his progressive/Funk-Rock style of bass guitar playing along with strong vocal ability. Andy also leads a power Trio called the “Juggernaut Jam Band “ that hosts an open jam every week.  Since its inception I have been performing with them and meeting other players. This has been an incredible experience and an amazing way to learn and grow as a musician.

? In 2013 I was selected by Kim Mitchell as the lead guitarist for the “Kid Mitchell Band”. I currently attend O’Neil Collegiate & Vocational Institute as a vocalist.  I am also recording my first record “Somethin’ to Say”. I have been lucky enough in life to have found my passion at a very young age. I would love to be the next generation of rock and bring this genre of music back to the forefront.

My story

Ayden picked up his first guitar when he was 4 years old. He has always loved listening to music and playing his guitar. When he was 7 years old, on a camping trip with his family, he was able to play his first gig at the local bar. He has always been a fan of classic rock and continued to learn on his own. When he was 9 years old he asked for guitar lessons. Ayden’s early influence and first inspiration was Slash. Soon after that first lesson he began attending weekly jams at the local pub where he met many great musicians over the years. He has jammed weekly since and over the last 5 years he has jammed weekly with Juggernaut Jam Band, which is led by Andy Narsingh. Andy, who plays bass and produced Ayden’s first EP took Ayden under his wing and has not only mentored him but encouraged him to record his first EP. This has been an incredible experience and an amazing way to learn and grow as a musician. In 2013 he was selected by Kim Mitchell as the lead guitarist for the “Kid Mitchell Band”. They opened for Kim Mitchell in May 2014 and Ayden continued to play with them for the next couple of years. He has since started writing his own music and started The Ayden Jacobs Band, which features not only his original tunes but many covers as well. In 2016 he was featured in the Discovery Winter 2016 podcast by Al Joynes as an up and coming young artist. One of his original songs “Mood Swings” was featured on the show. Ayden has had the opportunity to fill in as guitarist for a few bands over the years (Jackson X, Marc Joseph Band). He has also worked with Dave Langguth (Nelly Furtado, Kim Mitchell) as well as Michale Vassos. Ayden released his first EP on August 1, 2016 with Andy Narsingh(Dave Barrett Trio) and Mike Thorne (SAGA). He has been lucky enough in life to have found his passion at a very young age. He would love to be the next generation of rock and bring this genre of music back to the forefront.
